Jam Petrochemical's HDPE2 Unit (Former Mehr Petrochemical) Restarts Production at 105% of Capacity
According to Petrochemiha, the Heavy Polyethylene 2 (HDPE2) unit of Jam Petrochemical Company — known in the industry as the former Mehr Petrochemical — has resumed operations after several months of shutdown, restarting at 105% of its nominal capacity.
The unit had gone offline in recent months due to operational conditions and various constraints. Following a series of technical repairs and coordinated operational measures, it has now been successfully brought back online.
Output above nominal capacity
Jam Petrochemical reports that after the restart, the unit's operating conditions have stabilized, with production reaching 105% of nominal capacity — signaling a successful return to the production cycle and improved operational efficiency.
Restart amid energy constraints
The unit's comeback comes at a time when many Iranian industries continue to face energy and utility supply limitations. Despite these challenges, technical measures and planning made it possible to resume operations.
Support for reviving a key asset
Jam Petrochemical's statement credits the support and follow-up efforts of the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare as playing an effective role in returning this valuable asset to production — an effort that, alongside preserving existing capital, has helped boost output and improve the economic utilization of the unit.
Significance for shareholders
The reactivation of the HDPE2 unit (former Mehr Petrochemical) not only increases polymer product capacity but could also affect Jam Petrochemical's operational performance and asset returns — making it one of the most significant operational developments of recent months from a shareholder perspective.
